I can feel it, I am calling the shot: Penelope's vocabulary is about to explode, I just know it...in the last few days we have had such revelations as dog, door, and towel; her own name can't be far behind!

Family Visits
Penelope's Nana was in town this weekend, and so was her Great Aunt Letha, her Nana's sister and Gracie's Nonnie. So a Mason women gathering was definitely called for. Here are some pictures. It turns out that getting two children under the age of 18 months to look at the camera at the same time and not make weird faces is sort of hard, so we did the best we could:

It's Official: It's Baseball Season
Penelope made it to her first Washington Nationals baseball game of the season this past weekend. She was a natural, (all of the games she went to last year must have really worn off on her), she clapped when she was supposed to, paid attention to the action, and generally enjoyed herself without any fussing. Here are some photos of the day:


Bag Lady
This past weekend Penelope grabbed a couple of bags from around the house and a number of other random items (for example a football and water bottle) and started dragging them around the house. The coup de gras, however, was when she put a tupperware lid up to her ear and started treating it like a cell phone, suddenly a light went off and it was clear that she was emulating me as I drag a purse, day care bag, and cell phone around on daily basis. This year Penelope participated in a good old fashioned egg hunt with the kids on the block. She had much more fun watching the older kids than she did actually gathering eggs. As a side note, I learned an important lesson: Target on Easter Eve is like Target on Christmas Eve, a total mad house of picked over goodies. Here are a few shots from the morning:
